Moonstruck Chocolate, makers of premium handcrafted chocolates, came to Sandstrom Partners with the objective of significantly growing their brand to achieve national distribution. Market research showed that consumers love Moonstruck not only for their taste, but for the way they look, and the emotions they evoke. We recommended directing all communications to focus on their product: the quirky, handmade, and unusual types of chocolates that not only taste great but capture the imagination.
In addition, we developed packaging for new premium Single Origin bars along with their classic chocolate bars, hot cocoa line, and other new chocolate confections. The packaging reinforces the handcrafted quality, visual beauty and a multi-sensory experience of the brand through the hand-cut paper illustration style and various printing techniques and finishes.
The new work has helped Moonstruck gain national recognition, open new accounts and increase sales. In its first season, the Single Origin line was prominently featured in O Magazine’s holiday edition as one of Oprah’s favorites.
